What Pavers can be used in a driveway application?
Facility and business parking are primarily used by cars, but will be subject to occasional service or delivery truck traffic. In these areas, the minimum recommended vehicular paver thickness is 3 1/8” (80mm), and the units should have an aspect ratio less than or equal to 4:1.
Residential driveways are open to some additional options. This is determined by base materials. Rigid base applications (Concrete Overlay & Trass Bedding) allow for a lot of different options. Tile, slabs, wecast and natural, in larger formats can be utilized when installing over rigid base systems. Please call us for information on how to best apply these products in these situations.
In this section, we will be focusing on flexible base systems. The products listed below are what we advise for traditional base sytems, with all pavers meeting aspect ratio of 4:1, and spacer bars that ensure the ability to flex under vehicle load.
Please call for any information or technical questions pertaining to vehicular applications.
